Well... Since I don't really know how to go about 'blogging,' I'll just say this.
One of my many new year's resolutions is to craft more. It calms me down (even though it stresses me out in the process hah!). Plus, I love random gift giving.
So, I've made it a priority of mine to randomly gift give throughout the year with different crafts I've handmade and then post them on this blog!
I tested out a few ideas for Christmas and my sister was the lucky recipient! (She just got a new house with no decorations.. the perfect candidate!)
I wanted to post some of my ideas and see feedback (if my blog even gets any viewers). Otherwise, I mostly just wanted to post them so they'd be out there, somewhere in case someone happened to stumble upon it.
So! Without further ado (adieu?)......
It's an address hanger made with fabric and wood. Luckily she has a glass door in front of it. Not too shabby.
I have yet to take a picture of what it actually looks like on her front door. I just wanted pictures for myself right when I made it. I can't wait to go take a picture of how it looks on her front door! When I drove by the other day I could read it from the street, I was actually extremely impressed with how it looked. :) I love how simple the wooden letters are with the nails against the fabric.
So! For this wonder, I got a wooden frame from a thrift store, sanded it down, and spray painted it white. I bought some cheap hooks there, too, to make it more than just a shelf and what used to be a picture frame. The top board is a pin board, but covered in fabric. I assume she'll put things like wallet sized photos of our cousin's precious baby (had to shout out to Aislin.. I'm obsessed!) on this board. The middle board I cut out a piece of wood to fit the frame size, painted it with chalk board paint, and then wrote my cute little note on it (she lives with her boyfriend Nic). The last board is just your plain ol' cork board.
Like I said before.. I wish I would have taken better photos of these. She has them hanging up in her house, I just haven't gotten over there yet! Those are the three main gifts I crafted for her, there were a few smaller ones I may have to post a little later. But, man, am I happy with the results! And she seemed to be, too! Let's just say, she definitely had the biggest present pile at Christmas this year.
I am totally willing to make any kind of variation of these for anyone who wishes, as well. Finding similar wood frames would be the only issue. If you're interested, let me know!
Well, as my first successful blog post is ending, I can't help but be excited for what the new year is going to bring!
I can't wait to see what 2012 brings to inspire me with.
OH! and as a side note, you may notice my strange blog name: beebahCRAFTS.
Beebah is a word (silly, I know) that my friends and I had made up and started using in highschool. It's something I probably will never forget, nor let go of. Even though we are out of high school and all lead our own lives now.. I can't help but think back to how extremely lucky I was to be a part of my favorite "beebah" friend group. They're friends I'll keep forever, even if we live many miles away. A quick definition, and I'll be off. So what is a beebah, you ask? Well, a beebah is whatever you want a beebah to be. That's the magic of it. Think about it.
And I'll leave you with that.
